What is Micro Needling therapy useful for?
The Dermal Pen micro-needle skin therapy can be used to successfully treat any of the following conditions:
- Facial and décolletage lines and wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- Lack of skin firmness and elasticity
- Acne and chicken pox scars
- Sun damage and age spots
- Under-eye bags
- Stretch marks
Is an anesthetic used?
A topical anesthetic is applied to the area numbing the skin, making the procedure comfortable. The anesthetic will normally take around twenty minutes to work. The procedure itself takes around thirty minutes.
What happens afterwards?
After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin. This takes time as new collagen and elastin are formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process of healing and regeneration will continue over the following months providing you with a gradual and long lasting enhancement.
Immediately after the Dermal pen and you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warmer and tighter than usual. This will subside after one or two hours and will normally recover the same day with only slight redness the following day.
How many Micro Needling treatments will I need?
There are a series of three treatments approximately six weeks apart. In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring, it may be necessary to have up to five treatments.
